Roger Martinez, PGA
General Manager & Director of Golf

Roger Martinez, PGA is the Director of Golf/General Manager of Santa Ana Golf Club, Inc.  Mr. Martinez has been with Santa Ana Golf Club and its predecessor since its inception more than 16 years ago. A Class A-13 Member (multi-facility manager) of the Professional Golfers’ Association (“PGA”) of America, Roger also served on both the Board of Directors and Executive Board for the PGA Sun Country Section. Martinez is a former Collegiate 1st Team All-American golfer and a former host recipient of a USGA National Junior Golf Grant for Native American Programs, one of which was featured on national television during the 1999 US Open conducted at Pebble Beach Golf Links. As a host course recipient of a $175,000 First Tee Growth of the Game Grant, Martinez has worked hard at developing new initiatives on behalf of Santa Ana Golf Club, Inc..   He has served as host professional to more than 40 USGA qualifying events, three PGA Nike Tour events, Five State Open Championships, and over 1,600 corporate/charitable golf events. Additionally, Martinez hosted the 2003 PGA Club Professional Championship (New Mexico’s first nationally televised professional golf event), the 2003 US Women’s Trans National Championship, the 1999 USGA Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship, and the 2002 and 2003 World Senior Amateur Team Championship. He also served as the Tournament General Chairman to three of these events. Among other honors, Martinez has been recognized three times as the PGA Merchandiser of the year, twice as the PGA Golf Professional of the year, and once with the PGA’s coveted Bill Strausbaugh Award for his work in assisting fellow golf professionals in the field of employment and club relations. Martinez also served as the owner’s representative/developer for the SAGC’s $2 million clubhouse construction project, which included retail programs, the $9 million Twin Warriors Golf Club development which has received many national accolades, the $400,000 irrigation re-design project of the Star Nine and SAGC’s current $400,000 re-configuration project of hole #5 on the Star Nine to accommodate the Casino’s expansion.

 


Alan Sebesta
Controller, Santa Ana Golf Club, Inc. 

Sebesta has worked for Santa Ana Golf Club for 8 years and has worked for the Pueblo of Santa Ana for over seventeen years. He graduated from the Colorado State University with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing. Prior to joining the Pueblo, Alan held positions in the resort lodging industry at Anglel Fire Resort in Northern New Mexico for three years and at Keystone Resort in Colorado for ten years, Sebesta has been recognized for his ability to provide system analysis, develop significant procedural improvements, and produce financial records and statements in compliance with annual auditing requirements. 

 



Derek Gutierrez, PGA
Head Professional, Twin Warriors Golf Club 

 

Derek Gutierrez, a Native New Mexican, has been with Santa Ana Golf Corporation for eleven years and head golf professional at Twin Warriors since June of 2004. Derek was elected to membership in the PGA of America in May of 2004 following graduation from the PGA of Americas Professional Golf Management Program. He was also a recipient of the prestigious Acushnet Scholarship in that same year recognizing the nation’s top graduates. As one of two graduates of the PGA PGM Program in the state to reach the status of head golf professional, Derek has an extensive background in tournament operations and served on several committees that organized many high profile events such as the 2003 PGA Club Professional Championship, Nike Tour and Buy.com events, 1996 and 2003 NM Open, and the 1999 USGA Womens’ Amateur Public Links Championship. He currently serves on the Corky Clark Junior Golf Foundation Board of Directors and is a former Board Member for the Sun Country Section PGA. He and the entire Twin Warriors team are dedicated to providing memorable golf experience and look forward to seeing you on the fairways and greens soon!

Sandy Lemon, PGA & LPGA
Corporate Director of Instruction 

Sandy Lemon, over both Twin Warriors and Santa Ana,  is a PGA and LPGA Professional who has specialized in teaching for over 20 years. She is an instructor of LPGA Golf Clinics for Women and has received the PGA Excellence in Education Award and was Section East Chapter Teacher of the Year. Sandy was a three time state golf champion in Virginia, Illinois and Georgia during which time she became an Inductee in the Southern Illinois University Hall of Fame. Sandy played on the Asian Golf Tour and the Futures Golf Tour. In addition to her extensive playing background, she has developed and implemented numerous golf schools, clinics, and tournaments. She held the Head Professional position at a 36 whole facility in Savannah, Georgia for 18 years. Her expertise is in the area of instruction and club fitting. Sandy was named Callaway Golf Club Fitter of the Year for 2005, and Top Ten for the last three years.
