The golf instruction staff at Santa Ana Golf Club is headed up by Director of Instruction, Sandy Lemon, LPGA & PGA and Head Teaching Professional, Grant Dalpes, PGA.  
 
Sandy Lemon, both an LPGA & a PGA professional, was a head golf professional for 18 years at The Landings, Savannah, Georgia.

She is a 25 year veteran of the golf industry. Her list of accomplishments include: the Futures Tour, Ladies Asian Golf Tour, Rules Official for the PGA Championship and LPGA Section Coordinator/Committee Member.  Sandy also teaches Golf Clinics for Women for the LPGA, and was guest instructor for the 2009 New Mexico Rosie Jones Getaway, held at Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa in October. 

Sandy has the distinction of being the first woman named as Director of Instruction in the state of New Mexico.  In April of 2008, Sandy's duties as Director of Instruction of Twin Warriors Golf Club  were expanded to put her in charge of Santa Ana Golf Club as well-- making her Director of Instruction for Santa Ana Golf Corporation.  
 
She offers private/semi-private lessons, golf clinics and schools, playing lessons and computerized club fitting with the state-of-the-art

Grant Dalpes, PGA is a 28 year veteran of the golf industry and has been a PGA Member since 1987.  He is the President of G & L Golf, Inc. a management company that has managed Desert Lakes Golf Course for the past 18 years.  While at Desert Lakes Grant has taught, coached and mentored thousands of students with his emphasis on Juniors.

 

Grant was recognized in 1995 & 1996 as the Sun Country PGA Junior Golf Leader and has had one of the leading Junior Golf Programs in the state since 1992. He was the Director for the Sun Country PGA’s Bull Durham Junior Golf Academy & Top Gun Junior Golf Academy from 1994 to 2003.  He has assisted in Coaching both the Boys & Girls Alamogordo H.S. Tiger Golf team from 1992 to present; a team that boasts 4 Girls State Championship teams and 4 Individual State Champions along with 17 State top 3 finishes and 23 District Championships.

 

Grant was also recognized by the Sun Country for Growth of the Game effort at DesertLakes in 2007 and 2008 and has been an active member of the Play Golf America initiative.  He has also been on the Sun Country Board of Directors from 1990 to present and was a PGA of America National Board Member from 2003-2006.

 

Grant will be bringing his passion and talent for educating golfers of all ages to Santa AnaGolfAcademy on a part time basis starting in June 2010.  He will manage the Santa Ana Junior Golf Academy starting at that time and continuing to enhance the legacy that Bob & Rob Lowry have created.

 

Grant says:  “I look forward to joining Santa Ana and adding my passion and experience in teaching to the tremendous programs that Bob & Rob Lowry have created over the past 15 years.  I am confident that together we can provide the most professional and extensive learning programs in the Sun Country”.

Instructor Rob Lowry became a PGA member in 2007 and was selected as the 2007 Sun Country Section PGA  “Jack Hardwick Teacher of the Year” and “Junior Golf Leader”.  
He also just received the "Junior Golf Leader of the Year" designation again for 2009. 

Rob came to the Sun Country Section after working at The PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida and the Kennedy Family Golf Center in Denver, Colorado.   Rob was also a First Tee Coach for the First Tee of Central New Mexico program.  He works with the Santa Ana Golf Academy for juniors and adults and has just  become golf coach for the new Sue Cleveland High School golf team in Rio Rancho, NM.  Santa Ana serves as the home course for the team.   

He teaches golf classes for the University of New Mexico’s Continuing Education Department.   Rob grew up in New Mexico, played high school golf at El Dorado High School and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree while playing collegiate golf for Western University.
